TASK 7 Proton Accelerator Design

 

The objective of the Proton Accelerator Task is the design a 5 mA CW, 1 GeV proton linac (with heavy ion capability for A/q ≤ 2 and possibly up to A/q = 3) as the main driver for EURISOL. This development will have possible application in all projects requiring high intensity proton beams.

Presentation of an upgraded linac scheme that allows, in addition to the 1 GeV proton beam, also acceleration of 3He up to 2 GeV and A/q=2 up to 250 MeV.
